Purchase this amazing print by Chris Shirely at Hiatus.Design. In his own words Chris provides the context behind this incredible print:
"When I left the Royal Marines, I took with me a real love of adventure, particularly mountaineering.
What started with a summit of Mont Blanc quickly turned into a full-on obsession, and I found myself at the climbing wall as often as possible to build better technique and strength.
After a second unsuccessful attempt at climbing the Matterhorn, I took a serious fall that resulted in a medevac to hospital. I was placed in an induced coma for eight days due to bleeds on the brain and sustained a complex shatter to my leg, amongst other injuries.
The recovery took many years and included regrowing six centimetres of shin bone that had to be removed. The process, called osteogenesis, uses an external frame to encourage new bone growth, like something out of a sci-fi film.
It took me a while to admit defeat, but I’m now at peace with having been ‘Matterhorned’ when I should’ve been more vigilant with my personal safety."
All proceeds raised from the sale of our artwork, goes directly to supporting the Art of War Foundation raising much needed funds to support mental health.
